My mom and I recently went on a trip to Williamsburg, VA and there really is a lot you can do that you can't complete in just a weekend. You would have to spend at least a couple more days to really see this beautiful and historical place for what it is; and at the end, you will be able to go home and realize how much you have learned from its history. Not only did I gain some knowledge, but I had also got a taste of local shops and eateries! Let's face it, with over 30 art galleries, endless places to eat at, and upcoming events, there's so much you can do in Williamsburg this fall season!
MERCHANTS SQUARE
This is such a quaint place to grab some coffee, a bite to eat, and do a little shopping. We ate a yummy lunch at Dog Street Pub and later had a seasonally appropriate Pumpkin Latte at Aromas.

COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG
It's this and the Jamestown Settlement (scroll below) that you'll get a lot of your history lessons from. It's always fascinating to learn about how our country began, and the things that have happened that schools don't tell us about. Heck, we even went on a ghost tour and heard all about the hauntings their stories.

RIVERWALK LANDING IN YORKTOWN
If you want to relax and check out the river (or maybe even go for a sail) then I highly suggest walking around Riverwalk Landing in Yorktown. We ate at the Water Street Grill, and of course had the Mahi-mahi fish tacos...yummm!
JAMESTOWN SETTLEMENT
This was a very interactive museum because you were able to walk through the recreated Jamestown Settlement and Powhatan Tribe. You were also able to tour the replicated ships that the colonists sailed on. After seeing everything I was on information overload, haha! But overall, it was great to learn some more about our history.
