3 Room Home Design Board...

Hey guys! So I'm super excited to give ya'll a first look at how we'll be furnishing our home. Of course this post is only showcasing three rooms, but these are the first three that I've really worked hard on designing. I've gone back and forth on certain pieces, but I've finally got it down!

First up: The Living Room
This was probably the second toughest room (next to the master bedroom) to design. Reason being: the couch. I had a velvet navy couch in mind MONTHS back, but went out of stock. So it was a challenge to find an alternative to THE velvet navy couch I had already picked out. So this is the one that won and we were able to build the rest of the room from there.

I want to point out that the whole house is painted grey with white molding and dark hardwood floors. And the the whole first floor is an open floor plan, so you'll be able to see the whole living room while in the kitchen. So I felt that keeping things more contemporary and light will open the room more, but also flow into the kitchen. I wanted to make the couch the statement piece in the room, and picked out this grey/white diamond shag rug, gold/glass coffee table, and light grey barrel chair. I also picked out this gold foil and navy painting to really tie the whole room together.

This was the most fun room to work on, and that's because I'm obsessed with the Farmhouse trend! I want to make all the rooms tell a different story, but to still flow, so I still kept the grey and white hues with the rustic farm table & bench, along with this rustic white buffet side table and rug. I do want to incorporate some light green tones, so I thought a ficus plant would be a nice touch to bring out the naturalness of the table. When everything is set up I picked out these upholstered chairs with a nailhead trim and a few decorative candles as a center piece. Of course you have to have something on the wall, so I picked out this decorative oversized wall 'clock'.

Colors: Grey, White, Ivory, Green

Surprisingly, this was the hardest room. I mean, I couldn't find a dresser and side table for the LONGEST time! I had gone back and forth on the bed frame (multiple times) between tufted and not tufted, and ended up with not tufted and with a nailhead trim bed. Justin kept picking on me for wanting everything tufted, and ended up with only one thing in the whole house being that way (my office accent chair). So that was definitely good news for him, haha! I did end up finding this mirrored nightstand and dresser to go with the bed, so that was definitely a huge relief!

With the colors, we wanted to keep it pretty basic and neutral so that (if we wanted) we could change the comforter/duvet whenever we wanted and without it clashing. I felt the whole room is a timeless transition and will make 'changing this up' easy!

Colors: Ivory, White, Mirrored & Acrylic Accents

CURRENT HOME UPDATE: In less than a month we'll be closing on the house, and the builders are almost done with the build! There's still some little things here and there that needs touching up, and then theres a couple things that need to be completed, but other than that, the majority is done! This is such an exciting time for us! I can't wait to continue sharing more on our updates!
