Hello everyone! I'm so happy about today's post, because I'm finally getting to share a little post recap of mine and Justin's trip to GREECE! Aaaah! So excited! My trip recap will consist of two parts: Part 1 - Athens, and Part 2 - Mykonos. So of course, today is Part 1, so I'll be sharing you where we stayed, what we did, and where we ate in Athens!

It amazes me to see how much they've had to restore with the Parthenon. They've had to have computer programming figure out the missing marble pieces to the building, and have then had to reconstruct those pieces to restore it!

At the very top of Acropolis, you can see all of Athens! The view was absolutely phenomenal!
When you walk down a sidewalk in the city of Athens, don't be surprised if you see orange trees...everywhere! And I mean everywhere....

....and you'll also see tons of graffiti! I actually found this pretty cool!

We were able to sit down and have lunch outside, and we were also able to see the Parthenon in our view! (unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of that view, and instead thought this tree was pretty unique, lol).

For every breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we ate some where new. I'm sorry, when I'm traveling, I take full advantage of trying new things! One of the things I've learned is that the shrimp comes whole. So after cutting off the heads and peeling the rest, it was really delish! And it's a no brainer that we had tzatziki dip and pita bread as an appetizer, haha!

Walking near Plaka and ran into the prettiest wisteria blooms!

I've noticed that places around in Greece LOVE their greenery! Where we stayed, we'd look out from our balcony and just see plants everywhere on everyone else's apartment balconies. I'm pretty sure every balcony had at least over 5 or 6 plants hanging over the railing or chilling outside of their window pane.
Long before coming to Greece, I've been all about living that parfait life! So having an authentic Greek Yogurt Parfait was a MUST!

Tips:
-Take the metro everywhere you go! It may be kinda confusing at first, but by the time we left, we knew where we were going and knew when to get off and switch rails to get to our location.
-If you're wanting to blend in, don't wear what I wore, haha! They do a lot of walking in Greece, so tennis shoes are the shoe of choice.
-When eating out or grabbing coffee, there is no rush.
-If you're eating at a restaurant, and you've finished your meal, ask your waiter for the check. As Americans, we're so used to getting the check pretty quickly and/or the waiter asks us if we're ready for the check. Justin and I didn't realize this and stayed for a pretty long time at our dinner table one night. We learned right then and there what we're supposed to do!
-Coffee there is espresso here. The majority of their coffee drinks are espresso based (i.e. lattes, frappes, cappuccinos, etc) except for Greek Coffee. I ended up sticking with my usual latte, and enjoyed every bit of it!
