Derby Style Inspo

This past Saturday was an event to remember. Justin and I, and a couple of our friends (Brittany and her Fiance, Ben), were invited to attend the 21st annual Queen's Cup Steeplechase races. This was mine and Justin's first time attending the highlighted event and we had an amazing experience by being able to hang out with other tailgaters and watch the races---and thank goodness I didn't place any bets, because I'm pretty awful at betting, haha!

For my derby dress, I wanted to step outside the box of traditional seersucker dresses, sunhats, and Jacks. So I thought, why not a mesh dress with a slip lining, wedges and a white fascinator!? It was definitely unique and original, and even almost...royal! Yes, I was telling Justin on the way there that I felt like this is something that Kate Middleton would probably wear to a derby, haha.

*my dress is currently low in stock, but you can always keep coming back to see if your size is available. P.S., this dress is also in Petites!

I tried to find something purple for Justin to wear so we could match, but I liked how we ended up with a simple linen shirt, shorts, and chambray bow-tie.

Funny story, my fascinator was actually found in the kids section of Dillards, and only $18!
{I've linked a similar one here if you're looking for one!}

Us southern gals were able to get dressed up in our lace dresses and hats/fascinators, while our boys looked pretty sharp in their bow-ties.

Thank you again to everyone at The Queen's Cup for letting us spend some time with ya'll out on the track! We had a great time and look forward to next year!
