Remember that time I visited Wrightsville and Ocean Isle beach? Ok, I know it wasn't that long ago and it was only this past weekend, but today I'm sharing a little glimpse of my trip and sharing what I wore, what we saw, and of course---where we ate!
At first, the weekend was calling for rain but thankfully the sun had other plans. I was able to wear this fun nautical inspired off the shoulder top and paired it with my favorite shorts (try these!) and bag for a casual day out and about in Ocean Isle.
I would have to say that my favorie part about going to the beaches are the colorful homes! They're seriously swoon worthy and almost every one of them is unique on its own! The one I pictured above is towards the South end of OIB and a lot of the beach homes down that way get bigger and bigger.
Growing up in NC and around the beach, I remember a lot of the times the water was never really, errmm, blue. This time around I was kind of taken away by how much the water had cleared! It was great to see how much it has changed and I can't wait to come by to soak it all in again.
I love traveling outside of my hometown because I get to try different kinds of restaurants rather than big name chained places. We ate at this waterfront spot at Wrightsville called, Bluewater. Just scroll down to see what I ate! YUMMM!
The weather was perfect and I was happy that I got to wear this light weight gingham dress! It's even perfect for the 4th of July! (You can see my full outfit post here)
So you can't go to the beach without eating proper seafood! I highly recommend Bluewater. I dined on the Mahi Mahi with mango salsa, rice and beans, and of course some fresh snap peas. Just looking at this makes me want to make the switch over to 'Food Blogger', haha!

We were also bad and ordered key lime pie!
Ok, so switching back to Ocean Isle---if you're visiting and looking for a good place to eat, I recommend the Ocean Isle Fish Company. Unfortunately, I didn't snap a foodie shot...mainly because I was ready to get my grub on! But I can tell you what we ordered: we actually ordered 2 Lowcountry Boils, and it was big enough to split among 4 people. So good and so worth the mess it can make!

We even stopped for ice cream at Ocean Isle Creamery! I had the blueberry ice cream :)
